To coincide with October’s National Home Security Month, the inventor behind the revolutionary GlazeAlarm® and the team are doing their utmost to raise awareness for home security.
Last year saw over 400,000 burglaries, with the majority of incidents taking place between the months of October and January.
There are many reasons why this type of crime increases in the winter months, not only are daylight hours limited, but with Bonfire Night, Halloween and the Christmas holiday, there are predictable times when many of us leave our homes empty.
GlazeAlarm is on a mission to tackle issues of home security, with the invention of an alarm designed to alert homeowners of a potential break-in via their smartphone or tablet, before the intruder actually enters the property. The GlazeAlarm sensor is built into a double or triple-glazed unit at the point of manufacture and offers users peace of mind that their property is secure. In the event of a breakage, a local alarm is triggered immediately and the user is notified wherever they may be.
Ian Branagan, CEO of Armco Key Security Limited, the team behind the innovative GlazeAlarm® product, comments: “It is astonishing to hear that there were over 400,000 burglaries last year. Your home is where you need to feel the safest and it’s concerning to hear that so many people fall victim to burglaries.
“You don’t just lose possessions you can also lose a sense of security, knowing that a stranger has invaded your private space where your family live and sleep. We feel that GlazeAlarm could play a significant role in deterring intruders.
“We invented GlazeAlarm to be used in both residential and commercial premises as a preventative measure. It is the most robust and tamper-proof glass-break security solution available today that allows users to manage the safety and security of their properties remotely.”
The GlazeAlarm product has recently been showcased at the world-renowned Glasstec trade fair for glass production, processing and products, and gained a lot of interest from potential investors and partners.read more
The GlazeAlarm® is a disruptive internet of things (IoT) home automation security product that allows glazing manufacturers to compete in the security space for the first time. A patent pending wireless, shock and humidity sensor system, the GlazeAlarm® is installed within a double-glazed unit (DGU) during manufacture and will notify the user immediately upon a breakage of the glass via their chosen smart device.
The revolutionary GlazeAlarm® will be returning to this year’s Glasstec in Dusseldorf. The prototype product was first showcased at Glasstec in 2014 and has since been further developed and tested, along with the introduction of IOS, Android and Windows Apps, with a target date for full production and delivery in Q1 2017. Users of the GlazeAlarm® sensor will be able to monitor their safety, security and energy efficiency remotely on their chosen devices via these apps.
Ian Branagan, CEO, said: “GlazeAlarm is a revolutionary product which underpins our commitment to innovation within the glazing and security industries. It creates a very attractive proposition for manufacturers and retailers through additional and differentiated product lines.”
Bi-annual trade fair, Glasstec is the world-leading show for glass production, processing and products that offers an unparalleled overview of the industry. Hosted in Dusseldorf from 20th to 23rd September, Glasstec opens its doors to an array of expertise and products on an unprecedented scale, celebrating innovation, engineering and craftsmanship.
Mr Branagan continued: “The last Glasstec trade fair provided us with the platform we required to showcase our innovative technology, which led to a lot of interest with potential investors from around the world. We’re very excited to be returning to the trade fair in Germany to continue our search for investment and partnerships.”
Users create an online account, register their sensors and download the GlazeAlarm® app to their chosen devices. Once the set-up has been complete, users are able to select their safety and security preferences, establish zones within their home or office and create personalised notification processes.
The GlazeAlarm® is without a doubt the most robust and tamper-proof glass-break security solution available. It has applications for use in both residential and commercial sectors, allowing users to manage the safety and security of their premises remotely.
GlazeAlarm, a trading arm of Armco Key Security Limited, will be appearing at Glasstec in Dusseldorf from Tuesday 20 to Friday 23 September and can be found in Hall 11 on stand G68.
